 ILLNESS: Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumour (AT/RT) 

BIOGRAPHY

Blake was born at King Edward Memorial Hospital on 25th October 2006 and in March 2007 at just four months of age he was diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumour - a very rare & aggresive childhood cancer with a dreadfully poor prognosis.

Over the past 16 months he has shown immense courage & strength as he has undergone numerous tests, treatments, cycles of chemotherapy, surgeries, total nerve & arterial reconstruction, megatherapy & stem cell rescue.

Still he continues to be an absolute little fighter against this dreaded disease, however all of Blake's treatment options have now been exhausted and any further relapse would be devastating.

Blake is a very happy, spirited & brave little man who has already endured much more than any one person should have to face in their lifetime & still he may have a long, hard road ahead in his fight against cancer.

He is currently doing very well and most recently has started eating without the additional need for nasal gastric tube feeding. Blake is being reviewed every two months and his biggest challenge now is to achieve 12 months post treatment without further recurrence.

So we ask you to please continue to hope and pray that our littlest man stays strong and healthy and wins his fight with the bastard disease.
